Are you interested in becoming a certified art educator for K-12?
Northern Arizona University offers a comprehensive art education
program that offers individual attention and up-to-date
methodology combined with practical experiences.

Art education is an extended degree (no minor) that requires
satisfactory completion of course work in art foundations, studio
art, art history, art education, general education, math, English, and
liberal studies electives. The state of Arizona additionally requires
satisfactory completion of a Federal and Arizona Constitution class
and a passing score on the Arizona Educator Proficiency
Assessment in both content and professional knowledge.
Students who satisfactorily complete the NAU art education program
of study receive a Bachelor of Science (Secondary Education) with
art endorsement K-12.

Our graduate program offers opportunities for master's students
and certified teachers to add K-12 art endorsement to teaching
credentials.
